Red Bull Kasso | Long Beach
The Challenge
When Red Bull brought Kasso Fest Skate & Sound to the U.S. for the first time, they needed more than just a course—they needed a spectacle. The centerpiece was an 85-foot, water-lined “Railcoaster” designed by pro skater
Productions tasked DugOut Design Studios with ensuring every inch of branding on this complex, curvy obstacle was perfectly executed before the first drop-in at Old Hall Plaza in Long Beach.
The Solution: A Digital Twin for Real-World Execution
We built comprehensive, scale 3D branded elements and composited them into the virtual environment to serve as the project’s “Source of Truth.” This allowed all stakeholders to visualize the event’s look and feel with absolute clarity.
- Jamie Foy’s Design in 3D: We imported with the existing Kasso 3D model, as designed by Jamie, ensuring the technical curves were accurately represented for branding placement, ensuring our dimensions were on point.
- Branding & Signage Exploration: Using our 3D Visualization Services, we rendered multiple branding options. This allowed Red Bull and Kasso organizers to review logo visibility, color contrasts, and “on-camera” feel within the virtual Long Beach venue.
- Precision Production Sets: Beyond the visuals, our 3D model generated the exact dimensioned drawing sets required for production. This ensured the branded signage for the curvy rail and surrounding venue fit perfectly on the first try.
Project Impact
The result was a seamless blend of high-level skateboarding and immersive branding. By resolving technical signage challenges in a virtual space, we enabled Mesh Productions to focus on the physical build of one of the most “sketchy and soaked” courses in skateboarding history.
