From Concept to Champion: Crafting Broadcom’s Award-Winning RSAC Booth
We are thrilled to share that the Broadcom booth at the RSA Conference (RSAC) tied for 1st place in the prestigious Beautiful Booth Awards!
Designed by Marshall Caswell, this award-winning pavilion was brought to life through an intensive design partnership. DugOut was responsible for the entire pipeline of 3D execution, texturing, and lighting, translating structural concepts into high-fidelity digital realities to perfect the trade show experience.
The Challenge:
Translating Vision to Virtual Reality
An elite industry event like RSAC demands a structural presence that is both visually arresting and functionally seamless. The booth needed to accommodate high-volume foot traffic, dedicated theater presentations, and private demonstration areas. Our objective was to take Marshall’s design direction and build an accurate, hyper-realistic virtual environment to test and refine those ideas.
The Process: Precision Through Iteration
Achieving a gold-standard finish required an exhaustive, multi-round 3D rendering workflow. Working closely with Marshall, we executed a meticulous digital build:
3D Execution: Constructing the exact physical geometry of the booth to verify sight-lines, attendee traffic flow, and structural structural balancing.
Advanced Texturing: Applying realistic material properties to premium finishes, metallic elements, and surfaces to accurately predict how they would look post-fabrication.
Photometric Lighting: Simulating real-world convention center optics, ambient lighting arrays, and large-scale illuminated branding within the virtual space to ensure perfect contrast and visibility.
Iterative Refinement: Running rapid feedback loops to adjust configurations, materials, and light positions in real-time, ensuring every detail was flawless before physical manufacturing began.
The Result: A 1st-Place Masterpiece
The final physical build mirrored my high-fidelity renderings with absolute precision. By solving complex spatial, material, and lighting challenges virtually, the physical execution was seamless—resulting in an immersive environment that captivated both attendees and award judges.
Securing a 1st-place tie for beauty and design at RSAC is a testament to the power of meticulous preparation, iterative design, and strategic 3D visualization.
